I'm more fascinated by the biology and cochlear structure of quad-aural catgirls, than MC's TSUEEEE hijinx.

And I wish the author at least paid some lip service to blowing in each ear as a scientific method experiment.

...but maybe that's just me.

reminds me of Ax from a certain book series who asked how humans could walk around with only 2 legs and no tail.

how small would her brain be when she is quad-aural? Like the bottom part is already complex enough, but then there is the cat ear also.

Is the brain differ, like a front and back part for room to the cat ear? Or the canal of the cat ear don't goo deep enough and run near the side of the skull. Or also maybe they are connected to each other from each side (all right and left) so she can hear from all ear?

Also, what kind of evolution process necessary to undergo this kind of change? Most evolution just modify already existing body part to match their needs. This is just adding more part that seems pointless.

Depending on the prevalence of flying monsters in that world, having four ears would be an evolutionary benefit, so long as they're able to hear from all ears individually. We know people and animals alike are able to relatively accurately identify the sources of sounds based on the miniscule time-lag between when a given sound is heard by one ear or the other, so having a pair of ears offset vertically from the other would greatly enhance 3D sound detection, without the need for tilting one's head. The different ear shapes and ability to swivel the top set of ears would have their own benefits as well.

That said... without an increase in head size, they'd need an increase in brain complexity alongside a decrease in brain size to have the space for another set of aural canals without a significant loss of intelligence compared to humans, nor an increase in head size. Could potentially allow for thicker skulls and/or more protective fluid in the skull as well, though, giving better protection from brain injuries, and could also free up space for larger/more complex nasal cavaties for an enhanced sense of smell, too.

All in all, it's a neat little thing to think about, in world-building.

Technically to add a second/third dimension to sound detected (above/below instead of side/side and front/back) they would only need a third ear, not an additional two. Two points allows for a plane (two dimensions) three points for "space" (three dimensions). If you want to get really technical about it and use the GPS system for "pin point accuracy" then three receivers for a plane (two dimensions) and the fourth for the third dimension.

Evolutionarily, on the other hand... Often times when a human-like species has more than two ears it's because they are "half" human and "half" animal person. But in this case the original creator probably didn't think anything beyond that it would be "cool".
"Creature Girls: A Hands-On Field Journal in Another World" on the other hand does explore the potential evolutionary reasons for various "creature girls" but it's the exception.

The brain? Not that much different from ours, really.. , especially when you consider the huge amount of brain we reserve for sight. Shift 5% of that towards aural perception and you will have full 3D sound detection without sacrificing much, if anything, in the way of other things.

Other than "because magical world" the arrangement wouldn't be that space-intensive, because a large part of the size of our inner ear is for balance, not hearing. Any extra set of ears used exclusively for hearing can be easily integrated into the skull without really changing the shape of it.

As for evolution... We evolved stereoscopic/directional hearing to be able to focus our sight ( and our mouth) on whatever is hiding in the bushes and tries to eat us/is edible. Two ears, left and right, is enough for that.
Moveable ears gives you all-around directional hearing.
4 ears, 2 stereoscopic, 2 directional..... It would allow you to focus on what's in front of you, while still scanning for surprises all around.
Here on Earth such an advantage is evidently unnecessary, since there's not even a shred of a hint that anything with our body plan from fishes on up even tried it. Everything with a spine uses the same four modified gill bows for their ears.
In a magical world filled with monsters? Or even "bog-standard" extraterrestrial worlds. Mayhaps. Life is funny that way....
