Yeah, you can barely tell what's going on. I get that that's probably intentional, and this was just a teaser, but not exactly a fan of the way it was done.

Also, Shiba's sorcery was broken as is, he really didn't need a power up.

I dunno what it is about this series. I’ve read every chapter and of the top 5 characters in fan voting, I only recognized Chihiro. I can’t tell which white haired guy is the teleporter. Maybe they both are. I can’t wait until the anime comes out so I can try to re-learn these people

The characters are somewhat bland, but this definitely sounds like the issue is with you.
