The chapter itself featured our protagonist going all-out to beat up what appears to be an already barely responsive dog.

Whatever is now receiving the creative passion the author used to give this manga must be truly beautiful.

Series honestly has been below mid for a while.
Would argue that the downfall was with the introduction of that evil family clan, with their "Let's fridge the bunny girl and teleport away" introduction.
An antagonist that can freely teleport and thus has no locationability is a terrible thing to do to your story.
Though the first sign of the rot was properly the wife of the tree youma, who first selfishly killed a lot of people and then demanded that Kagura also kill Raito when he youmafies.

There's a pretty simple alternative too, this is how the mangaka wanted the story to go, we're just too used with most mangakas dragging it as much as possible

Just for the record I'm not saying the pacing is necessarily good either, it's definitely going a little too fast, my point is just that it's not necessarily proof it got axed

I think people are wrong cause for something supposed axed it just keeps going lol

Also just looked to be sure, this is the writer first work so the poor pacing can easily be explained by that

I do feel the story was always going to take this direction and it's just the pacing that is the issue, it doesn't help that we're used to most stories dragging it as much as possible too

I think that this being the writer first serialized work explain some of the possible flaws too, example, Cattleya being so overpowered, with the way she is the writer pretty much wrote themselves into a corner unless what we're getting was the plan all along

At least the more chapters are out I get more and more the impression this was always the plan cause the writer is pretty clearly being allowed to do whatever they want, they're taking their time going through the story instead of Cattleya magically gets defeated in two chapters and everyone ends happy

Seriously, think of all axed series any of you have read, none are allowed to keep going for this long lol
