This story pacing was fine at the start, went into turbo speed in the last few chapters, now slow down again.
Either the Arthur has mood swings, wants to end this in 20~30 more chapters or they thought they were getting axe.
Or, they got a new editor lol.

There goes a doomed childhood friend...

Samurai Guy sticking up for Kagura's agency is cool. I wonder if that yandere samurai from before will show up, but I doubt it.

So, is this getting axed or not?
All the axe stuff was rumors and vibes.

I think most folks would still agree we were careening rapidly toward an endpoint and now it's likely time to wrap up a few questions before Kagurai ends. (Or maybe this first part of it?)
Good endings are extremely difficult. It just hurts all the more because the overall drop in quality of the story (my opinion, not that I had no complaints before,) feels a lot like the rush to an early finale you see a lot with publications that start strong but run out of motivation or funding or whatever else happens.

It's not like Kagurai had already been dragging on too long before now. The pacing has always been a little awkward but for the last few months, it's been vertigo-inducing.

It's kinda incredible to have a manga that both speedruns it's ending by skipping everything else that would come before it, yet still drags it out so much.

And i still have not the slightest clue how Kagura is going to actually win here. She is barely able to walk before she even properly encounters the final boss!

They can still speedrun it. Next chapter Kagura goes to kill him, everyone immediately turns into Youma because Cattleya won off screen. Weird happy monster world, the end. :haa:

True. It’s hard to say when a subpar ending is the result of an axe or if it was the author’s choice but they just naturally botched the landing

Still don’t know how the author is ever going to come up with a way for kagura to defeat literal god after getting one shot in half a chapter not even 4 chapters ago

Fuck man. Now THIS was a great fucking chapter. Now if we had maybe another 50-100 chapters in between with crazier characters, fights, and more side character screentime, yeah this woulda hit harder. But the writing in this chapter alone didnt make me think about how rushed the series is ending. It's like the author already had this specific chapter in mind when they started the series.
