Would've been so much better if he resurrected the Wyvern, took on a tremendous amount of pain because of the rebound, and woke up half-way to Jioral Kingdom after the girls had helped him onto the Wyvern so they could get started flying there.

Not really, that would have just dragged on the story even more and Keyaru has pain resistance, so using Heal doesn't knock him unconscious anymore and he doesn't revive heal either. Get over it or write your own damn manga story or whatever.

My literature teacher loved to say: "Deus Ex Machina steals our joy" rather than the protagonist struggling to find a way. He pulls "ancient knowledge" from the void being saved by influences outside the immediate setting, using a single wyvern corpse to fashion an aircraft that carries the 5 people.

Even if the army is scanning the sky (I doubt it), would they even catch some this small, fast and correlate correctly?

My only guess is that they would sense the magic being used to move the aircraft forward.
