It's objectively verifiable (by scrolling through the comments) that I never wrote anything of the sort that you are implying, so it's not about meant/didn't mean to,

@criver This manga is certainly no high literature, but its roots are easy to see. Revenge stories have existed as long as literature itself has existed. However, there're already about a billion stories with simply parents/spouse/children/siblings killed and the protagonist needing to take action, so one of possible next steps was to make it more gruesome to set the story apart from the masses. It's not like this development wouldn't have happened in other genres, usually for the worse, like in horror movies where the crafty and subtle ways of telling the story and shocking the viewer changed into an endless parade of gore and special effects. There are already some totally ruthless revenge stories around, so it's clear there is demand. In the end if the novelists/mangaka are trying to earn their living, they can only write/draw something that will find its audience. There's no telling if the author is a genuine edgelord himself or just a smart (or a desperate) person catering to a specific audience.

You should realize that this 'drama' (I would say farce) should not have started in the first place.
I am allowed to say that this is bad as much as people are allowed to say that it is good. But more often than not you get a vocal minority flinging shit at you
if you do the former, which is one of the reasons manga/anime communities get a bad rep. Some people just want to live in an echo chamber and believe that
somehow the comment section should play the role of that echo chamber. And if that doesn't hold, the cognitive dissonance seems to do them in, and they start acting
in a similar way as the guys on here. They start trying to rationalize why somebody would disagree. Just look through the replies: some rationalize it as the issue being the
controversial topic and not the writing being garbage @Cyreader, others rationalize it as you being triggered @Miros, then there are those who assert that you carry disdain
for the manga even though it clearly contradicts the fact that you're reading it @ichigoteguz, other people regress back to childish behaviour @Redice, there are those that
simply deny reality and try to tell you what you meant @Maala, some try to dismiss you as trolling @aFFi, and I am sure there's a lot more stuff you would be able to find if you
consider similar cases. The thing in common between all of those is that there's no solid basis for any of the assertions, and it's just a way to reduce the cognitive dissonance as far as I can tell.
It's truly a fascinating phenomenon.

My issue is not really with the rape/killing, it's just how bad the whole thing was executed that turned to be the last straw for me to actually write a comment saying how bad this is.
Rape, gore and murder serve as shock value here, and also complement the childish revenge fantasy. It's not about the author being an edgelord only, it has more to do with how
bad the writing is. The author is simply not equipped to deal with the topics he tries to, and tries to mask poor writing with shock value.

@criver In my judgement this is just mediocre in writing in the isekai genre. The very basic need to be fulfilled, writing wise, is to stick to the original idea. There are some stories that can't do even that. At least this story has, so far, managed to focus on the MC's vengeance since most of the chapters have been spent on his rebellion, attacks against the offenders, and fleeing when appropriate. The other basic need, in my tastes, is to somehow remain even remotely logical. Again, there are series that fail that, with characters behaving utterly irrationally all the time and causality failing to be observed. There might be some problems here in this story, but it works more or less.
I haven't actually kept reading the series that failed these two major points of importance (for me, personally). They would be the ones with poor writing, not even mediocre. If this drops from mediocre to poor, I'll also drop this.
