It's still a date-rape drug, it's just not a poison. That's my argument. Having a drug that puts people to sleep that isn't a poison technically can be justified. That's the entire argument.

(Also, a roofie is a specific thing and not a catch-all term for any date-rape drug that puts you to sleep so I think that's where we got a bit confused. Having a magical drug that puts people to sleep is not the same as the modern invention of a roofie, which could only come about at a time with advanced chemistry and medicine. Suspension of disbelief partially relies on in-universe justifications. Sure something SIMILAR to a roofie could exist, but not the over the counter medicine we think of nowadays.)

No, "drugs" and "poison" are not the same thing. He never calls the date-rape drug poison, either.

A drug is just anything that will have a chemical affect on the body. They are inherently neutral and may not have any detrimental affects at all. Poisons will always have a detrimental affect on the body and will fuck you up. A poison CAN be a drug but not necessarily, and if these are your standard "make you sleepy" and "make you horny" pills, they wouldn't do much besides promote hormones and natural chemicals to be sent in your body.

Also, the way his poison resistance works is he must ingest the poison multiple times to gain immunity to it, implying he must be exposed to it constantly

He's been exposed to both the addictive drug and alcohol before so he already has antibodies that know the drug and remember it. This is his first time encountering the drug so he won't have any white blood cells to counter it.

he wakes up in a few minutes, the drug is supposed to last for a half hour so he recovered a LOT faster then a normal person because skills are a quasi magical effect. It is called antibody but he is resistant to all poisons, even exotics he never touched before because that is just how the skill works.

Poison resistance and suddenly it doesn't help. Well, reallife poison resistance also in most cases weaken some poisons to some extent. But hey, it's magic/status. I guess the author can make up, that suddenly it doesn't affect all alien compounts entering the body. (How does the magic/state-system/skill know, which compound it a danger to begin with?)
