That's a pretty harsh criticism. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, allow me to try and rebuttal a bit.
It's all of chapter 4, half of it anyways. From what I've read, this is a story about revenge. A boy is brutally mistreated and abused and once he regains his sanity he obviously breaks into madness. I don't know about you or even myself, but from what I've seen from other forms of literature and our real world news, having something traumatic happen to you tends to change your perception. A form of PTSD I would think. We'll not rehash the story as it is at this point. But he goes back in time hoping that he will remember the atrocities that befell him, for obvious reasons he does.

Now, if I knew shit were about to get real in a few years, I'd do something about it. And here we are, chapter 4.1, the beginning of the end. I don't really know how the plot is because we haven't even started it.

Our MC is not coming off as cocksure, he's angry, he knows what's happened, and he wants to take it out on the one responsible. She's a shit, she deserves it. I certainly hope you weren't expecting him to just turn the other cheek about this whole affair.

Here's the thing, this also goes with the other one that's around right now that LH is working on. Everyone is claiming these kids are edgelords or what-have-you from how they would be in our world. But if you step back and realize that the difference between edge and not is if the problems are real or not. I believe in Japan it's known is Chunibyo.

Four chapters in and I'm still not sure what to think of this. It seems odd that the princess would want to turn him into a mindless slave after learning the extent of his power. Maybe we haven't seen all of the explanation yet.

I hope there is more complexity on the way than just straight revenge porn. The words of the sword saint seem to suggest not everyone will be out to get him.

Yeah, I have a pet peeve about these "revenge plots/porn" stories where the reason for the mistreatment/abuse is poorly explained. It is told to us that the Princess is cruel to others but that is pretty shallow without established plot behind it. She becomes a scarecrow we can build angst towards and there is some primal satisfaction to be gained in the moment; however, when I think about it even a little afterwards there is no depth to it.

I do find this story's beginning to be better than the other revenge porn "Nidome no Yuusha" because there is at least an inkling of tension as the MC retraces his past while plotting his reversal/revenge. In "Nidome no Yuusha" the MC is just gunna punch everyone from the get-go. Gimme some kind of tension please, the healer guy's OPness ruins most of the potential tension but at least there will be more buildup to his reversal/revenge.

The logic is that since healing potions are so easy to get, his power is basically useless to them and they were hoping for an offensive hero, not knowing that his healing skill is the most bullshit thing ever, letting the MC gain the skills of the people he heals in exchange for experiencing every ounce of pain they've ever felt in their entire life. The definition of "healing" is also very loose. Since he's a hero he also has the whole "increase level cap by fucking him" thing so he's whored out to everyone.

Looking at the raws, I'm somewhat disappointed to see they toned things down by a lot.

The revenge for the princess was the weakest revenge he ever pulled.
The next one was entertaining, but my favourite was the revenge for another hero. Damn that was hilarious as hell.
Can't wait to see it on manga form.
