Thanks for the translation!

The atmosphere in this one was what I started reading this series for. Once again I wish this updated more frequently and in longer chapters, but I'll take it. With the author literally leaving us on a cliffhanger, I can't wait for the next chapter.

I didn't notice it before but Aunt in those overalls and the construction hat is a look 💦

"I thought about respecting Fuu-chan's feelings but then I thought about my own feelings and decided Fuu-chan's feelings don't matter as much." Not a fan of those types of characters. Anyway, hopefully we find Kon (alive) soon.

Honestly her bigger mistake here is a practical one and much worse that just disrespecting Fuu's feelings: now no one know will know they went down into The Hole.

Her character has been all over the place. Why Furuka is even talking to her? I feel the author doesn't even remember who this girl was supposed to be.

This.
I really dislike how she's gone from self important queen bitch of the island to turbo lesbian gushing heart. Feels really forced and unnecessary.
In fact, having her as an antagonistic character, forced to help somehow in this arc, would have built more tension. Now she's just a third (fifth? what's the saying?) wheel.
Reeks of similar decision to change uncle to aunt.

I suspect that the changes in character behaviors is an intentional foreshadowing that something is not right in this "timeline" she somehow ended up in after her GF got digested by whatever the fuck is in the cave.

To be fair, a girl, who is also a minor, living alone with some adult "uncle" would raise an eyebrow anywhere. This being a yuri manga, someone probably thought it was better to kill any weirdness and the retcon happened.

Oh, I like this idea.

Not really. Parents dead? Exchange student or studying abroad? There are plenty of reasons for someone to live with their relatives, regardless of gender combination. Family doesn't usually turn family away. This was most likely (and this is just unsubstantiated conjecture, so feel free to disagree) male hating twitterites complaining about a main(ish) character having a Y chromosome in "their" yuri manga.

Yeah I get that. And I'm saying this change from her being a straight girl who's a bitch into some meek lesbian who can't stop thinking about how much she loves Furuka reeks of the same kind of idiotic pressure to force artists to do what the mob wants (eg. changing uncle to aunt) instead of people just enjoying the authors vision.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter, since Kon is best girl, and whatsherface will fade into obscurity, but the total 180 on whatsherface's character is dumb and doesn't elevate the story at all - in fact it is a detriment. In my opinion, obviously.

I think its probably something more simple like the mangaka got tired of drawing the uncle and felt like drawing an aunt instead. This manga isn't popular enough to generate a silly controversy like that. There's also some plot developments after the retcon, specifically the Aunt's history with The Hole, that would not have made sense if the story kept the Uncle.
