I'd say to wait for a couple chapters to pile up but for this manga and pacing, you'd be waiting about 2 years (and that would still be a gamble).

For what I understand the girl does not exists anymore, as well as she never existed in some sense. For what I understand, this polyp colony is a sort of sentient hivemind organism a several hundred or even thousand years old. They unable to move, but they can create a separate entities that can travel on its own. Some real life creatures, like corals, are actually does that in order to reproduce and spread, and I think this colony creature able to create a separate entity for that purpose as well. But alas, as it seems it's the last of its kind (at least in this region) I think it slowly evolving to being able to accommodate humans (like what, really?) Right now it capable to create host body that has a mind of its own and a personality for being able to interact with humans, it mimics human appearance by refracting light with its scales or even able to affect human minds to temporally fit themselves into society. When the mimic entity comes back, in order to absorb information from its body and mind it get dissolved by the colony.

I see, makes sense, that would explain why at the end here, it showed the entity acting as if its appearence is a projection of what the viewer thinks the entity is, or something along those lines.

I might only guess, but I think this is a projection of general image of human beings the hivemind had and gradually building, in order to being able to interact with humans. It also uses this image to create the host body and personality. Its origin is probably of the girl the villagers sacrificed the first a long time ago (chapter 9, page 9) and then it was built up with other human sacrifices. But, as it's still too basic, every each human sees it in its own way.
As well, the real story might be of more spiritual theme, and this a ghost of the first sacrificed girl (or projection of spirits of all sacrificed girls), using this ancient creature as a mean to get back to humans.

Probably the later. The hivemind polyp colony monster much likely took it's first sacrifice girl as a basis, but the OG girl is probably not even a human shaped, it just uses light and mind manipulation to look human-like.

It’s been ages since I read the beginning, so I’m a bit confused. Are you saying that Kon never actually existed, and that she was just created by the colony for some purpose...? This story is turning out to be really depressing.

The release schedule for this manga is frustrating because it is so good. I'm at the edge of my seat each and every time. When it's completed and I can read it in one go, it's going to be amazing... A shame that I'll be 90 by then.

But this is all still just a guess on your part, yeah? This is the latest raw available, I believe, so unless the author has spoiled something on social media, this is all we have.

I think your guess is very good based on the available evidence, but I'm not sure it is at all in keeping with the theme of the story or even genre (there's been a decent amount of emphasis on self-discovery of one's sexuality, which would not really fit).

But who knows, maybe the story will find a way for the readers to have their cake (Yuri in this case) and eat it too. Or maybe it won't, and we all get a crushingly sad ending out of nowhere.

As for the person talking about dimension jumping earlier, there's also no confirmation of any of that (and I think that's far, far less likely). Our best guess so far is simply that the author forgot that the MC had an Uncle and gave her an Aunt instead.

It does... seem like a really odd and major thing to mess up. But I still feel like thinking this manga is going to go all Qualia the Purple on us is probably the least likely theory of all.
