Parasites kinda amazing idea, but iirc sometimes parasites could kill their host so maybe theres a chance nue and its parasites would kill each other for climax..? But on the other hand, the nuclear bomb is kinda a chevkov's gun so i kinda expects it will explodes but the nuclear development will be meh imo

Wait, why can't they set the time of detonation and wait for bravo team to land to let them know when to set the detonation for? Ignoring the fact the time of detonation really should've been agreed upon before the mission since they'd have a limited window to land

fuck me this chapter is exactly what infuriates me about this manga; it'll have (relatively) logical ideas in response to the problems it raises only to immediately go full retard. They resemble botfly larvae to me so perhaps it's some sort of flying monster in its larval stage?

Parasitic, but probably like mosquitoes or leech to us (outside being disease vector). Although they’re sucking its blood, Nue is too big to care and they don’t kill their food tank.

For setting the clock...
Going to assume they want to prioritise safe escape from all the crews. They want enough time for the B team to also evacuate the area into safety. It’s not funny if they fail to escape and Nue starts throwing its body in pain from one set of bomb. Or worse, can’t escape far enough when the nukes explode.
They also would rather not use the nukes, and for that the calculation say they need the conventional loads from two teams at minimum. Thus they wait so they can set it together.
