iirc water is not a very good medium for most frequency waves so some sort of beacon to triangulate position might just get muddled if it dives deep enough, and it's apparently capable of diving deep enough to hide from sonar

and i think anything that IS capable of transmitting that deep is going to be huge, basically you'd need something bigger than most subs to be fired and lodge itself into hiruko, at that point you might as well just try to kill it with that harpoon instead (see what happens when a diver gets hit by a sonar ping by a sub)

The biggest aircraft in the world still has smaller guns than a dinky escort ship. It's much easier to carry weight over the sea than in the air.

Bro there's a reason radar isn't used underwater. Meanwhile GPS is blocked by a couple trees. Hell, aircraft already carry GPS and they still get lost at sea for this exact reason.

An AC-130's arsenal is comprised of a 25mm Gatling gun, a 40mm and a 105mm howitzer whilst a Murasame Class destroyer's arsenal are 1 76mm autocannon, 2x20mm CIWS (unused here), 8 ASM (unused here) and 2 324mm torpedoes so no, an ac-130 would not be enough to end it
