Capture or nah? Seems impossible given that it chews on metal. Then again it is small enough to box in.

I like this Ban Bonjin. He seems scary and hotheaded at first, but he's actually very level-headed and reasonable. He'll be a great character for this arc!

I like that we're not experiencing a giant kaiju this time. Something bigger than a vehicle sneaking around in the snow is a pretty scary concept. RIP Mimura, at least he went out on his own terms.

The first ones young vented toxic gas from dorsal vents. This one vents heat and what I'm assuming is molten metal slag. Starting to wonder if these things are designed by something to act as living terraformers on the surface.

Looks like finally Yamato will get some action. Usually he's just crewing the ship or monitoring from conference room.

I love the smell of incestual love in the morning
"irreplaceable blood-related little sister"
Why did he phrase it like that?
It does sound abit awkward in English. But I can see it possibly being less awkward in the original. Some choice of words can feel weird or unnatural in one language while being nothing weird in another.

Another aspect that may contribute is because how lengthy the sentence in the English translation. 'little sister' is just one word in Japanese, and IDK what 'blood-related' in Japanese is but it possibly shorter.

Anyway, his wording here because in just before Reina said how they are just being blood related and barely sibling because they don't grow together, a statement that can be taken to imply that blood relation isn't worth much in itself*. So, he mention blood in his response to stress that said blood relation is indeed worth a lot for him

Which make sense when you consider Yamato's background. Even before all the monster thing, dude is protective of his family, working hard to protect his brother and even then still wishing his then-abusive father to come to sense. And then just right after he lost both his little brother he spend so much effort protecting as well as his father who just had to started getting better. Make sense he is driven to protect the only family member he has left.

*not that Reina seems to think so. Its very obvious she's happy to met her brother again. Those sound more like words of self-denial.

Anyway, if they have grown apart since very early on, it kind of explain all this blushing reaction. No time for Westermarck effect to develop :p

It's probably an awkwardness in translation, like Tenhut said, but I also think that he's starting to realize that preserving his monster sensing family's bloodline might be important.

Since he's at risk in the front, if he can evac her to a safe area, she might be able to have children to pass on the ability if he dies in battle. After all, this war with giant monsters might not end anytime soon. It may take generations to win if it's ever won, and the world might need more "Newtypes" to combat them.

I wouldn't even be shocked if the world government found people with the DNA to sense monsters and then sampled their DNA and cloned them Jango Fett style to help turn the tide.

Eh, I doubt he even thought about that here. Seems to me he was driven here really just for Reina's safety.
