considering it's around 180 pages total, it makes sense using chapters since that's a whole volume's length. There's also a decent amount of single volume releases in the manga space, so it works out

Too short. I guess you can also call it short and sweet though idk if I'd call the ending sweet? Fr though you don't need everyone to be your friend. Having just a couple or even one true friend is really all you need. Also now I wonder if the dad could transform as well? I'd guess that's how it was possible?

Mature of him not to call out the fake friendships of everyone around him and instead focus on making Hidaka happy.
I like how they told Hidaka not to yell out Tobiomoto's Kaijuu-nickname because they didn't want to break the "appearance of everyone being friends" even though no one in the class really believed they were.
I wonder how his old friend felt, being supported even if it was through a violent way. If I were him, I'd regret not taking Tobimoto's side.
I wish this was longer. They had several threads that I would have liked to see closed. It was a good start and compelling. I totally get the author when they said they have a hard time making their characters do wrong things. You made these characters and now you have to make a convincing "incorrect" action for them to take. Feels wrong on multiple levels.
8/10, if it were longer and brought closure to many loose ends I could see it being 9 or more.
Anyone got any recommendations like this? Thanks!
