Just saying but if wifey had been the mc.....there would have been lots of assholes killed already.
B-rank adventure asshole? Dead.
Various members of the demon lord army? Dead.
Red haired of the 4 heavenly king (or whatever they called in this manga) "please notice me daddy" guy? Dead.
Super bromance trying to have junior? Dead. (Actually surprised she HASN'T killed him yet)
Hero? Dead. (Still time for this one)
This wanna-be hero? Dead.

@SingLove Even with Radey there killing someone sent by central could be seen as an act of aggression to not only the guild, but the country. If they see that Dariel is stronger than everyone they would try to force him to go which wouldn't be a bad idea as he needn't fight since he knows the demon king and the 4 emperor or w.e they are called.

So to explain things to those still confused:
1. The family treated the A-rank with kindness even after his initial transgression because of the difference in status. While they likely know that Dariel is stronger, they would still have to observe some level of decorum to uphold the relationship between public and guild. The A-rank, meanwhile, believes that the Hero is the only one worth paying attention to there, and treats everyone else as if they're a second thought, as he typically would anywhere else.

2. A-rank's attitude changed so swiftly because he realized, in order, that:
- Dariel is absurdly powerful, enough to perfectly replicate the previous Hero's signature move better than himself
- He just pissed in Dariel's cheerios by destroying his house and disrespecting his family
- He's put himself in a position where he just attempted murder in front of someone who's powerful enough to hold him to whatever consequences he wishes, legal or otherwise

3. Dariel tried to resolve things quietly and peacefully because he very specifically doesn't want to disrupt the peace of his home town by involving a large entity like the guild. If he were to press charges OR off the guy for his crimes, he'd inevitably wind up caught up in some massive investigation and probably roped into helping the Hero anyways to "atone" for his perceived offenses against an adventurer of prestige. He just wants these people out of his hair as quickly as possible so they can get back to their slow daily lives.

So what it really boils down to is a difference in the character's priorities and prior knowledge, along with an unspoken understanding of social hierarchy typical to these fantasy settings. The author tends to move things too quickly for ideas like these to be properly explained. They seem to rely on an assumption of readers picking up on these things from other similar manga. Perhaps not a terrible assumption to make, but rather stick to "better safe than sorry" in these cases. Assumptions usually wind up burning you in one way or another.

What @EmissaryOfInfinity said, plus don't forget that Darriel has been living in the Demon territory for the last 30 or so years, and a lot of the habits and behaviors he developed there in order to survive do not magically vanish from his personality once he becomes powerful enough to puree anyone who looks at him funny. He's going to default to deference and diplomacy by reflex, since that is how he got anything and everything done in the Demon territory, where literally everyone had more magical power than he did.

And, to be fair, there is going to be a certain amount of cultural bias bleeding over, consciously or unconsciously, from the author as to what sorts of actions are good and right and proper and heroic. A protagonist written by an American author would be much more likely to kick ass first and ask questions later, reflecting American cultural biases. But we are reading manga, so...

i wonder what would happen if the A ranker banged MC's wife, would MC stand at the side of the bed and cheer him on? would he make him some food afterwards?
what exactly does it take to set MC off? apparently trying to murder him, his wife and his child isn't enough so i'm curious.

@Doomer i think you have to perceive it as that amount of force while the MC is around wouldnt have harmed anyone his wife is extremely strong too that said he's first real exposure to humans is his town of really nice people with the lack of malice

He probably gotten way more discrimination while in the demon army so this may feel way minor especially since he can now wield weapons and power before he had no way of combating
