It really is, the only difference is that the main character actually tells his party that he's in a loop. I can only imagine that they would believe he's entirely crazy if he didn't show he knew.

It definitely appears that way. After all, he still couldn't save the cleric, despite so many loops.

Even in a game, reaching a 100% completion while also still trying to beat the clock is going to be an arduous task.
