It does, it still has him be Lidy's bodyguard and accompany her inside. There's more buildup to it, while the manga feels like "he shows up, he gets thrown in the cave," but it still happens.From what I remember of the LN, it doesn't really. The occasional thing (each different in circumstances), but it never changes the focus.
I think there is an argument for talking to Eizo. In that besides being the bodyguard, he is supposed to be in front making a path for Lindy. His job is to get her safely where she needs to go, but to do that he is the one determining the pace.It bothers me that captain Leroy is coordinating things with Eizo instead of talking directly to Lidy.
While Eizo is the story MC, in this arc he's supposed to be "just" the bodyguard (i.e. an accessory) to Lidy.
So, it shouldn't be "Blacksmith, you guys handle the boss". It should be "Lidy-san, we'll leave the boss to you".
