I mean, this is most certainly bait in every imaginable way at this point it seems odd to throw this in there all of a sudden.

We already know Ibuki really likes Tomoaki so I doubt having some random guy to her (if he is) stop the pickup artists will sway her opinion on Tomoaki...plus Tomoaki knows the real her and show usually looks. He likes her for her and not what she is pretending to look like, so like yeah.

Makeover as dokidoki bait: :glee:
Harassment trope:

We have to remember that dressing like a girl makes her uncomfortable, so I get the feeling that he was going to tell her she doesn’t need to do anything that makes her feel weird. That alone should potentially make their relationship much more solid than the people who line up because she looks pretty in a skirt. Hopefully this is what the author is going for. (That being said, I have a sneaking suspicion she did it to capture his attention!)

Hope this doesn't go down like a similar manga that ended early.
Please don't, I am still so frustrated about how that one ended.

This chapter is just... irritating, I guess?
The make over just feels unnecessary, and kinda forced, and it doesn't have the effect the author thinks it has (I assume).
And the new guy just feels like cheap bait, the audience knows that he is no threat, but Tomoaki doesn't, and I just know that this is going to lead to an incredibly annoying misunderstanding.

The only thing I liked about this chapter is the question that Tomoakis friend posed to him, that was a good way to get him to think more

Okay, hear me out...what if this guy's introduction isn't remotely about romance? Implied to the readers, sure, but we haven't really seen our boy react. A key theme has been how "coolness" is interpreted by different people, and that's how the guy is meant to look (seriously, he doesn't look nearly sleazy enough to be the playboy trope).
