Imagine introducing a new girl just to make the MMC realize his feelings after the FMC has known about her own for a while. There is a title called Sirens Wont Sing For You (you can read it in another site) and its precisely this premise. However, I cant tell you if the FMC is the only FMC going forward since its still early in its run (iirc about 4 chapters in). I'd say its pretty good.

Yamada-kun to Lv999 no Koi wo Suru perfectly fits your first requirement, arguably hits your second preference (YMMV), and it has a bunch of chapters. (But something's going on with the mangaka, so it's on semi-hiatus.)

Why is it always the most upfront girls the losing one? I'm not upset she's losing but mangaka gotta stop using these characters as plot devices. It's easy enough to not make MC or FMC be tiptoe around their feelings for God knows how long

Imo If an up front girl is to win either the genre is different (established couple instead of friends to dating) or the author has to be even more contrived than usual to keep them apart but still have a relationship be possible later

You know, I think the losing love interest might actually be my least favorite literary mechanism.

I just hope we can move past these characters and see some progress quickly, if this divulges farther from the main couple I'm not interested anymore. This isn't titled "me, my cooler friend, and 2 other people" after all.
