It was a pretty confusing one even if you read it while it was actively coming out. There's a bunch of people caught up in an extremely convoluted tangle of friendship and romance, and a good few of them have strange abilities that allow them to perceive emotional states and stuff from others, but in different ways, and I think it's never quite fully explained what each ability does in detail, so you had to figure that out as well. Interesting concept, but I remember being confused as fuck when the pov characters kept changing and someone came in with a new and different obscure ability.

i feel like the way the characters talk to each other is what leads me to confusion, especially Para early on. they talk like modern kids and im just too old to understand lol

Just reading it for the first time the premise is simple. Everyone in the main five cast has social deduction powers abstracted in different forms. All of them are teenagers with blindspots and the plot progresses across the course of the year with a different character as the POV. What we have is a tangled web of misconceptions and misunderstandings that everyone thinks someone likes a completely different person than the one they feel interested in.
I've got a feeling El's got the final volume POV and it'll become much more clearer, though it seems this confrontation is gonna lead directly to that volume.
