comparing the light novel and the manga, I feel that the manga does a more amusing and entertaining portrayal of the story.
(Nieki Zui is such an amazing artist!)

The light novel had contained zero illustrations except for the front cover and a simplistic design indicating the start of the next chapter. The light novel does provide a more detailed description of each character's POV and internal thought process which the manga will be missing out on, but the manga does provide a good overview/"gist" of it.

The manga does the epilogue significantly better than the light novel.

Spoiler: Epilogue differences

The light novel stops at what I believe Miki and Kyou talking in the classroom together sharing a desk. It's not actually explicitly stated. The entire epilogue is pure dialogue with no indication of who is who, but I decided to come to the conclusion that it is Miki and Kyou who were speaking. It is more of an "implied" happy ending that leaves the reader to imagine that they will be together.

In contrast to the manga epilogue, the manga portrays both Miki and Kyou spending time together and even depicts the entire friend group meeting together at a university after their highschool graduation. It's a very explicit happy ending that leaves absolutely no ambiguity on Miki and Kyou's relationship.
