I imagine it's something to do with the availability of AI-based (and other) translation tools. The (presumable, I haven't actually tried them) ease of access, along with the current popularity of using AI to do Things™ combined to make a perfect storm of "let's churn out large volumes of garbo". At least, that's what makes sense to me.
It could also be a matter of us just noticing them more as we all delve deeper into our weebery and read more and more mangas. Or maybe it's that the increasing popularity of manga has reached a tipping point where people worldwide are seeing it as a good way to get some internet attention points by translating things into english (since it's such a widely used language), combined with the aforementioned availability of translation tools.

No way to know for sure without some sort of serious, in-depth study.

It feels too bad to be the work of an AI, most of those either translate into something that makes no sense (as they don't translate but just write something on random) or create a decent translation.

I'm not saying this one is AI, I'm suggesting that AI is why it's getting so prolific. That said, is really not that many in the grand scheme of things, so I think you've just had something of an unlucky streak.
