There's definitely something special about Kyougi if the heavens themselves sent an angel to protect him specifically (Jeanne pre-corruption) and for him to be able to charm literal demons with ease. Wouldn't be surprised if it's revealed that his ancestors or his parents have angel and/or demon blood in them.
