It's even worse than that, I think. The old guy was reminded of the time he let a bird get lost. Kid tries to get the old guy out of the house by pretending she saw the bird "on the fence". She meant the railing. Poor old guy probably overreached and tumbled down searching for his pet. Kid not only had the full view, she also knows she was the CAUSE of his fall.Ok, this made more sense than the last chapter. Kid leaves door unlocked, random old guy with dementia comes in, she persuades him to leave and he does and falls off the balcony or something to his death.
Nothing supernatural happens here but that's the horror, that something like this could actually happen IRL.
Though I guess it makes the second chapter make a bit more sense that it was something not supernatural and the horror was more mundane, but then I wonder why the first chapter looked very supernatural with ghost vision. Unless it's supposed to be about schizophrenia or something?
The kid also has her own pet bird I think. It's even worse than that, I think. The old guy was reminded of the time he let a bird get lost.
