I'm kind of baffled by this story. I can't tell what level of romcom reality we're on. The plot of him getting into minor drama because of an inside joke is the kind of thing that happens all the time in real life but rarely in fiction. Like how people in fiction don't stutter or meander while speaking casually the way we do in real life. It's too mundane and random for most fiction. So that makes me think this manga is trying for verisimilitude. But then other things feel like the opposite. The characters, their designs, their relationships, their personalities, they're 100% pure unfiltered romcom manga tropes. They're archetypes. To the point it feels like a ritual.
This manga is making me question how I spend my time. Why am I reading bad bad romantic comedies written for teenage boys?
