Don’t do it dude. It’s not worth the trouble & even if it was a misunderstanding, why the hell did she wait X amount of months to talk about it in lieu of a day or two? I understand wanting closure but she still entertained the idea of cheating by going out with that guy (unless it was family but I’m going to bother with that). Ayaka or Shinohara are much better people to be with & care about you. Thanks for the translations.

Friendzoning the manga. But yeah, the whole ex-girlfriend situation seems stupid.
Why did she never try to defend herself if it wasn't cheating?
Why is she trying to reconnect now if she couldn't be bothered to try to preserve their relationship before.
What kind of explanation could there be if it wasn't cheating, you don't hold hands with male relatives your age, did she volunteer to lead a blind person around by hand? Is something like that even necessary? They have canes.

This will be actually addressed in future chapters (if they are going with the same pace as WN), and I think by that point most will agree that their breakup was a miscommunication and misbehavior tragedy from both sides

Whatever she was doing was bad enough that she preferred for him to think she was cheating than to tell him the truth.

That shit destroyed him, so who cares about what she actually did? It doesn’t erase the pain she caused.

She just wants to clear the air now for her own benefit, it’s not for his sake at all.

Just where the heck is the author going with this series? As another commenter said, ‘Friendzone the manga’ feels about right! Although if anything the way the story is going it feels like the author prefers Ayaka anyway rather than the titular FMC.

the actual situation is way more complicated than it looks, and I think anyone that is savvy of relationship woes can at least pick up parts of what our MC did.

And to her credit, she will air and mention this issue to our MC

Funny thing, I just saw a KDrama yesterday that use this plot, minus the cheating part :notlikethis:

... so BOTH CHEATED. I see mc's smooth criminal personality in this chapter.

When an MC is so insufferable it actually breaks immersion... Just how would anyone, let alone kouhai and Ayaka ever develop feelings for this corporified Yare Yare Daze joke?

The manga's artist is carrying this so hard...

I think MC should just meet his ex because it will help with his wavering. But he really really need to be prepared to let go no matter the outcome. He shouldn't try to come back with her even if she wasn't cheating.

From........a certain point of view, yeah.

I think once the manga actually reach that point, this issue can be talked in depth.
So, did his ex see Ayaka as his cheating partner? I get it if that's the case, and that has been my guess from the beginning.
