I don’t think her cheating was a widespread rumour. The MC wasn’t talking about it and I doubt Reina did either for obvious reasons.

Somehow she’s decided that what she did wasn’t cheating, so she’s in complete denial. She needs to believe that in order to feel like she is still a good person. It’s probably thanks in part to her friends like glasses girl here and the dude she was with on the “trial” date telling her things she wanted to hear/believe.

So at the beginning, I was somewhat understanding of Natsuki's antics.
I thought "what a b*tch" when she went "So?" about the pen, because I thought she was refusing to help on purpose just to be annoying, but I also thought MC was weird for not asking her directly as he did indeed need a pen.
When she revealed that it was indeed on purpose but to bring up the MC's lack of communication skills, and even his dependence on Ayaka, both of which led to his break up with her friend, I thought it was genius. I still don't like Natsuki but I can respect what she was trying to do.
But the metaphor with the moon and then suddenly getting offended for some impossible to decipher reason while MC was only trying to make her feel better about her name is just ridiculous.

She was feeling very insecure about how close the MC was to Ayaka. That combined with bad advice from friends convinced her to go on a “trial” date with a guy who’s been drooling over her for a long time. The idea of the date was to see how it felt to be with a different guy who’s focused on her. That was the date that the MC saw.

Was it cheating? I think most people would say it was, and it was also just a really fucking stupid idea. So was ghosting the MC for months on end. Her friends screwed her over with their advice and she was an idiot to listen to them.

All that said, their relationship was doomed anyway since both of them clearly didn’t know how to communicate effectively with each other.

scanlator drama aside, this chapter was really weird, with Natsuki constantly hinting at stuff but not having enough courage to actually say it straight, not to mention that part with the moon, being insensitive, all that jazz. Woman, say it straight or don't say anything at all, being excessively vague like that just needlessly complicates things further

Honestly that was really annoying.

She said she would have lent him a pen had he asked because she wasn't as perfect as Ayaka at mind reading. But that's dumb. It's not about perfect or not. It's about kindness.
It's one thing if you're dense or shy. But if you notice someone needs small help and you can help but you ignore it, you're just a selfish person.
It seems like Natsuki is as aware about her surroundings as Ayaka, meaning she could have been as perfect as Ayaka so to speak. But it's her own inaction that makes her not perfect.

And then she blamed MC for being insensitive just because he couldn't read her mind. Like wtf

She was literally right there during the incident at the mixer in chapter 2 where Shinohara and MC got one over on her ex right in front of everyone. In fact, all three were on the same page together within pov of each other.

As much as I hate Natsuki like all of you it kinda made sense that MC never asked Reina about it.

HOWEVER men are fucking dumdums, you cant just say things vaguely and expect us to get it. How irony is it that you're telling him to be straightforward and not assume things on his own while also speaking in a vague and cryptic way instead of just straight up tell him that?

If you are trying to tell a man something then say it straight to his face, otherwise he wont get it.
