Yeah, It's actually crazy. They straight up gaslit him into second guessing himself. I would have never expected the Kouhai who was also cheated on to even say that to the MC.

It's pretty clear the author is leading towards Reina not actually cheating and the MC misunderstood and is dismissing any explanation she's been trying to give. The only thing Reina has confirmed was that they held hands but it could be the other guy coming onto Reina and her never reciprocating.
