I'll read it to the end but I must admit that this arc was really unnecessary and killed a good part of what made this manga charming. I really don't know why the author went this way, it was a given she would piss off her readers.
Well, it's not entirely inaccurate, my wife and I had a dispute some months after we started dating and split for a week until I called her back. And it was for for little stupid things I can't even recall now. So I can tell from experience this happens indeed. But does this twist in this story really improve it? I don't think so.

It's kinda annoying tbf , especially the way she is acting , she blindsided him with the breakup and her own delusional thoughts and issues are root of the problem and he is treated like the problem for not magically not knowing it . Half hears a conversation and put her own spin into it and assumes the worse btw . Now they're treating mc like a joke , oh he forget about the random calligraphy he complimented , during who knows when , about which apparently evryone except him knows about , like how does that happen . Both friend circle suck as well with the way they're talking about each of them , although its the most realistic part about this scenario

The "they're just dumb high schoolers" excuse can only go so far. I've been a teacher for 6 years, and I've seen many middle schoolers more socially competent than those two.

And it's not just those two either. No one from either friend group thought that "Isn't it weird how they were getting along so well, but now everything fell apart ?". No one tried to be a mediator and figure this shit out.
Like, the boys straight up don't know why she broke with him. It would be so, so easy to fix. But no one is reaching out. They're just making assumptions in their respective corners.

As silly as she is being in her letting a single half-heard conversation destroy a relationship she was super happy about, their entire friend base is arguably worse than either of them.

Her two friends she confides in are constantly telling her he's super shit and shitty and the one friend is advocating for beating him up and just dumping him like, all the time.

His friend group is just ambivalent and doesn't reach out to console him or even check in if he's okay. It's been nearly two months and the extent of their concern in this chapter is "wow you're still spacing out?" and to gossip about how tons of dudes are now after or hitting on his ex-girlfriend. Zero tact, zero "hey man we got your back". He's all alone in this and left spinning his wheels because she effectively blindsided him with all of it, and no one's stopped and just said "hey, you good?"

Hopefully the author won't drag this dumb unnecessary conflict. And it wasn't interesting at all. Let see if it resolved next chapter.
