The weirdest thing about this is is girlfriend actually broke up with him over this stupid plan, even if shes "faking it" it doesnt make much of a difference
I've of a mind that the whole of the series is rather poorly executed by virtue of every character being super unlikable.
The ML for being well & truly spineless in the face of the FL's behavior, while
in his head pretending that he's pushing back as each and every word and action he takes proves the complete opposite;
The FL, assuming my guess based on what I pointed out in ch.13 p.8 above is accurate, decided to effectively cuckold the ML via his current relationship and then blackmail and harass him into "trial dating" her, as though anything that may or may not exist between them justifies her absolutely shitty behavior; and
His present girlfriend (at the start of the series) first cheated on him, instead of simply breaking up with him in favor of the FL, and
then got all pissy and possessive like she didn't attempt to leave him first, and seemingly wanted to backtrack on her own wishywashy nonsense behavior in a "have your cake and eat it too" type deal. while showing zero accountability or self-awareness in how godawful she was toward him.
I mostly am curious as to what the end-game for the FL has been, because the ML as-presented is
woefully inadequate as even a potential partner for someone like her. She would have
no reason to ever look his way, much less twice,
much less cuckold him and then force him into a relationship with herself, without some monumental amount of shared history that only she remembers. And to go these lengths, in such an underhanded and manipulative and coercive fashion, just to get him to look her way belies a personality that I would never want around me if I could help it.
So something's gotta be the case for her to consider any of the actions she's taken, idiotic or toxic as they are, as justifiable in getting him with her, and it needs to be substantial in her mind, and it needs to involve them both.
But I don't dislike any of them any less, regardless of the answer, nor do I think this series is undeserving of its current MD rating even if only accounting for the portrayal of the primary cast.
