The fact it gave such relevance to Akane and that she clearly liked Shiyuu made me feel like it wont be the last we see her... tho she didnt had a face which can also be for characters that wont be developed. Who knows...
Both started things out indirectly using their powers but being at the same place, wanting to eat the same thing and being somewhat involved with the "brave girl" in the background makes for already a lot of fateful coincidences. They do also naturally suit each other. So guess their power influence is more of a cherry on top of it all.
