Maybe the reason this story is so slow is because its supposed to be a psychological thing? A reflection of what we expect and what we want when we really think about it. Cause there are like 6 very maladjusted old men, and with an author known for taking things in a fucked up direction, when the ball the drops.... its gonna be fucked up.
