Kinda surprised that he hasn't tried to set some sort of spiked object on the ground for the enemies to ram themselves through when he does a dodge.

You guys are also severely hampered with game logic when thinking about aoe attacks. You doge aoe the same way you dodge non aoe. You make sure you aren't where the damage is being dealt. AOE is not intrinsically a counter to his evasion if he can move fast enough.

It's more on the level of "You can't dodge / outrun an explosion / a bullet / poisonous gas". And if he "avoids the place in which the explosion happens", or "avoids that room that is filled with gas" -- that's more on par of clairvoyance, and at that point that stat may as well be "god mode, super-charged luck, absolute Karma, Death itself has destined you to never die of unnatural causes".
Rather than game-logic, it's common-sense being applied...There are things that you simply cannot physically avoid.

P.S: I rather dig the translation.
The quality is appropriate for this type of a story.
