... You've forgotten, this isn't a world where only the MC has a game screen/stats. Everyone has and knows their stats, so the whole world is game-physics/game-logic based to a degree.

It's likely that the magic potion, once imbibed, creates some temporary effect of "Monster Aggression Up" or "Enemy Detection Range Increase". Or both.

@jalil29 I think it makes sense. In a normal party, it would be useful for a tank role to hold aggro after all. And I agree that potions are generally consumables, so I don't think there was anything too strange about drinking it.
