I forgot she still had a boyfriend until you mentioned it...Yes yes, she needs to officially break up with her boyfriend, blah blah, getting it out of the way for everyone here and now.
But to the point - I really, really can't get over how direct and ...I guess introspective and thoughtful the characters are when interacting in this title. No miscommunication, no "what the fuck is going on oh god blubber blubber stutter augh"-ing, everyone's in tune with themselves and knows what they're about, and it's very, very refreshing to read in the current slew of romcoms that rely on misunderstandings and lots of thoughts with no intelligence to drive a plot that could be "literally solved with one honest dialogue".
Which means the drama/narrative tension will likely revolve around external conflicts, i.e. classmates/MC's boyfriend, but I'm here for it in general.
Thanks for the TL work. Super enjoying this one.
it's in the most superficial of ways, as I'm not even convinced the boyfriend really cares, either.I forgot she still had a boyfriend until you mentioned it...
Exactly! That's what should happen, I thinkBruh I swear when the time comes for the breakup with the boyfriend he’d probably just shrug, go “welp” and find someone new the next day
Sure, but because of this the whole thing feels like the author is talking with himself. The characters don't really feel like they have a different "voice", it's a bit hard to explain. But to the point - I really, really can't get over how direct and ...I guess introspective and thoughtful the characters are when interacting in this title. my bet is: the boyfriend will get another girl thinking she will be mad and she will be like "oh thank god that makes things easy" and he will be pissedSo shall we start up the pool then? Who bets on “Not breaking up will be an issue.” and who has “Boyfriend is a literal non-issue.”
I can’t decide if the author is just letting it fall beside the wayside or is keeping it an untied plot thread to artificially cause tension whenever they go out in public. It’s like a popcorn kernel stuck between your teeth, you can ignore it if you try but it gets annoying once you remember its existence.
we've gotten very little of the boyfriend's perspective so it's honestly hard to say what he feels about the relationship and how aware of her (lack of) feelings he is.Bruh I swear when the time comes for the breakup with the boyfriend he’d probably just shrug, go “welp” and find someone new the next day
