Like I feel as though earlier chapters had him get flustered easily and be sorta mischievous, but now he does nothing but scream and shout and act like a bully inter-cut with small acts of sorta-kindness. Like he will get angry and Kashiwada because she doesn't react as if it's her fault that he's so hung up on this whereas before he would just get flustered when his plans failed.

Think it's the new translation. The first few chapters iirc were done by someone else and even the language seems milder. Here, Oota uses word like shit and fuck liberally. To me it does fits his character and the gap moe when he blushes is pretty funny lol

I find it's rather strange. It's more that he tries to be toxic, but doesn't quite manage it either because he's just not good at it, or because his actual feelings get in the way. It's more a case of needing to grow up than change who he is, if that makes sense.

Yeah, its easy to forget he's supposed to be a middle schooler because he's drawn like a high schooler, so it makes sense he's so immature.
