The concept of laying down roots somewhere and living the same place for your whole life had always seemed alien to me growing up (probably cause I'm American, and we're practically nomadic). Psychologically, nostalgia and sentimentality is not meant for you. It's a sign that you want your kids to hold onto the same adventures you did (or have bigger ones!)
