I'm less surprised about the teasing and more surprised about how a shoujo series could stick around for 10+ years and at least two sequel series with the main relationship going nowhere.

I like how he doesn't even deny liking that series to her anymore. Now that's progress.

The Unrequited Love series is clearly the Hajime no Ippo of generic low-effort shoujo.

Glad to see his love of shoujo manga didn't die down.
@xyzzy I agree. Shoujo rarely sticks around for long. It'll be extremely lucky to get into the 20+ volumes.

Wasn't it 100% unrequited love in the original version? This must be the 3rd version.

In my head "300% Unrequited Love" is a in-world version of "Marmalade Boy Little", an almost unrelated sequel set decades later which repeats almost all the tropes from the original, and that you read solely because some of the characters from the original appear here and there. I laughed at it.

So I do recall Mom did also read 100% Unrequited Love, just not as fanatically as Dad...

Is love of cheesy shoujo manga genetic?
