What I don't get is when Yamada fucks up she has to self reflect on herself while when Kase fucks up she gets away without having to do any self reflection. Also Kase is mad that Yamada is pushing herself to far and her first reaction is to ghost her what a great partner. The author really plays favourites with Kase end its ruining the story.

We can only hope that this series ends with break up.

Aren’t they living off of her one income too?
Probably not, or Kase would have starved to death while she was living in the dorms. I get the general impression over many manga that it is routine for middle class Japanese parents to support their kids in college, which is possible because rent is cheap in Japan. So it's likely that Kase gets money from home, enough to live frugally. Chances are Yamada does too. But if you want a slightly better apartment and a few nice things and not to subsist on noodles, that's where Yamada's job comes in.

Oh boy! I wished Yamada was also passive aggressively posting emotes and ignoring Kase when she was all buddy buddy with that Junior during the stupid race. Also kind of weird how everyone around Kase was cheering it on and in the end gets away with a slap on the wrist.

Where as Yamada here is being lectured by everyone on how bad of a gf she is. Phew, you would think the author has something against people like Yamada. I sure hope in the next chapter it isn't what I think it is where Kase comes storming in and blaming Yamada for hurting herself.

Why did the two series get merged anyway? The original Kase-san and... series and Yamada to Kase-san are prequel and sequel respectively, and unlike the former, the sequel has a clear numbering system for its chapters in its raws.

The merge also seemed to have messed up the order of some of the chapters
For example, the chapter about Kase giving Yamada the necklace as birthday present was put after the chapters about their Christmas trip, and the chapters about Yamada giving Kase a hickey was put after the whole Fukami arc was over

Whilst Yamada did need to reflect on her obsession with work and neglect of other things (not just Kase’s race) this series so often forgives and forgets Kase’s behaviour. Sure Kase “doesn’t need a bed” but Yamada wants one and wants to earn the money to do so. Kase so often has races and training and camps, and is “allowed“ to pursue those, but when Yamada wants to work or cook suddenly she’s the one neglecting the relationship?

And as @Rubberdukkazilla pointed out, Kase’s passive aggressive replies to Yamada’s genuine messages is just petty, shitty, and childish.

See what happens when a yuri actually follows the couple from high school to college instead of just ending it? Suddenly you want nothing more for them but to break up! (I am being facetious here guys, don’t flame me!)

Holy moly, I've never commented on this series, but this chapter got me actually mad. What the hell is this story?
On one hand, we have Yamada being guilt tripped by her "lover", while being The Adult in this relation.
On the other, we have Kase, doing whatever the fuck she wants, behaving like literal 5 y/o and being passive aggressive towards her partner.
And it's Yamada that is getting the "I need to think about my behaviour" treatment?!
WHAT?!
I swear, like people previously stated, the best ending for this story would be them getting apart and finding someone more suitable for them, because clearly Yamada is ready for serious and adult relation, while Kase isn't - her just as childish "senpai" from dorm would be perfect match for her, ngl.

I know others have brought it up but I'm still stuck on the fact that Kase-san not only bet their relationship on the race, but her delaying their move caused them to lose out on the ideal apartment. The apartment they're currently in is one they had to find after and was only "good enough" iirc the original one they picked out together Yamada was super excited about because it had space for her to do some gardening and whatnot. So not only did Kase-san put their relationship on the line for an extremely dumb reason, she also made Yamada miss out on her ideal apartment entirely. I don't know about you but I'd be very sour about missing out on something like that for a long time if nothing else.

Yamada almost immediately lets it go though because for better or worse that's just the type of person she is. This sort of constant stupid, petty drama is really irritating me at this point. I've been reading this manga for over a decade at this point and as much as I respect the mangaka for her work the last few arcs have left me freaking tired to put it simply. I really need something to drastically change particularly from Kase's side of things so we can go back to have cute couple stuff and healthy relationship growth instead of every development coming from something stupid and negative.

It's heartbreaking to see how the series has basically devolved into this being a toxic relationship.

It retroactively ruins the entire thing.
That's why I fell apart when I was dropped by my horrible spouse.
"Oh, NONE of that was ok. Like a decade I dealt with this person?!"
