She was hypocritical, I can agree. That's why I would've preferred that if Yamada had missed the race, it would've been on the account of staying home and resting. She didn't need to go in for work, when she already accepted additional shifts from her job. They can't fire her, because they already have members who quit. There was no reason for Yamada to go to work on her day off. I mean if it was something that Yamada had did to get back at Kase a bit, then I wouldn't have an issue with her on this, but that's not the case.

Instead it seems like it was done just to give Kase ammunition to be upset with Yamada, and give Yamada the idea that she shouldn't have gotten upset with Kase since she did the same thing. Missed an arranged agreement with her loved one, for the sake of fulfilling the request of another, when there was no need to. Sure you could argue that on the scale of things, Kase still was worse, and she was, there's no denying it. The problem still remains is that Yamada missed something because she chose to do something else, and I expect the story to treat it as though they're both equally guilty. Actually it's already even worse now, because Yamada is already acting self-loathing towards herself and apologizing to Kase, when I don't even think Kase went through the same self-loathing.
At this point I personally think the author just hate Yamada and love Kase. Like Kase didnt get any karma or anything for what she did, author basically acted like she did the totally normal and okay thing. Meanwhile Yamada needs to feel sorry for Kase and self-loathing fir doing something that is 1000x less bad than what Kase did…

Its actually sad that the author went from the good prequel into a sequel about how terrible Kase is, but its somehoe okay for her to be that, while Yamada needs to be the perfect girlfriend constantly…

Prequel was good, but this whole sequel have basically just been about how terrible Kase is as a girlfriend…

Also is whispering you a love song not finished yet? I dropped it after author basically said “Oh btw the ones I write about in the introduction of the series aint even the MCs, the MCs are the annoying characters you thought was simply side characters…” Like what manga has way more chapters about the 2 side characters than the actual MCs?
The prequel was so good and such a comfort read, meanwhile, this sequel has only made my blood boil.

Yeah, sasakoi isn't over and unfortunately, it got so much worse in the current arc it's at. 😭 Another one of my fave reads that became incredibly uncomfortable and infuriating to read. I didn't even mind the 2nd couple/arc but the current arc has disappointed me in ways I never expected. I'm ngl, I hope the manga ends soon. At this point, not even the MCs can make me like sasakoi like I used to. :(

Guess I made the correct choice of dropping it…

These comments sections are always a battlefield of those who dislike the continuation and yet read it against those who don't like drama and also keep reading. And it turns out the ones that contradict themselves are solely the protagonists...

Honestly Kase was right. what we all have to learn about this manga, is that the characters are just humans, they do some wrong things sometimes, they're not perfect just as we do, sometimes i passed for the same situation as kase, my girlfriend always overdo it at work, and then she doesn't have time for anything, including me, or even more things that are important, take care of yourself it's important, Yamada care about other people more than she care about herself and that is the problem of it, the same way Kase needed a reality check some time ago, Now Yamada also need one

think your overall idea is correct and I would agree if Kase wasn't overreacting poorly here considering she did infinitely worse and more disrespectful stuff towards Yamada on 8 more different occasions. And ALL of them were unnecessary. The score is 8 to 1 soooo.. gotta cut Yamada some slack, more so when considering that she solo carried, pushed forward, saved, enabled and future proofed their relationship while Kase was playing around.
I know, shouldn't make it a competition in relationships but there clearly is an unhealthy unbalanced unfair view from Kase's pov on who is allowed to fuck up, how often and how it will be judged.

Honestly, I'm surprised that Kase won and Yamada didn't collapse coming there. That's what I thought the trajectory the chapter seemed to be on. Still, I'm left feeling confused why people are yet again upset by the chapter.

With this mint wilting metaphor, it feels like, after all the Kase's fuckups throughout basically the entire manga, now the one time Yamada messes up, and it's already straining their relationship (hence it's wilting)? Is this what the author is trying to sell? Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but Kase really has no room to complain about anything for at least a year.
