When it comes to specific preys and/or territory, a yandere will lay claim via subtle suggestions and actions that can normally only be perceived by other yanderes. These actions can either help cement the yandere's place in the prey's life, while also warding off potential threats (usually other yanders). The most patient and crafty of the yanderes can create an elaborate web of information without anyone (including other yanderes) noticing, that'll give them immense advantage over the territory and not only place them in their prey's life but also make them important to said prey. If a yandere is challenged by another yandere for her prey or territory, a yandere usually gives a short warning (via cold glance or glare), and then if ignored takes two courses of actions against the opposing yanderes, attack and/or trapping. Both of which, if successful, removes the opposing yandere from the scene.
