What makes this so hard to stomach is that it wasn't made for exploitation. With something like Dead Tube, it's lazy shock content and you can roll your eyes at it and move on. With this, you can tell it comes from a place of sincerity. It's not fetishized. The author understands that real people go through this kind of stuff, and it's handled with thought and care despite the extreme subject matter.

I don't know what the author's background is, but I strongly believe that the author is a CSA victim. The manga's portrayal of its themes feel too real to not come from some personal experience.

Uuuuhh.... im conflicted, on one hand i rlly enjoy reading taboo, abnormal, forbidden, weird, etc romance stories. N i certainly do find the whole oppressor x victim romance to be an interesting trope but idk... this one just got a bit too real...? N i cant completely hate the kidnapper either since he himself was abused the same by his mother. Which im not sayin is a valid justification for his actions and all of the terrible things he's done towards the mc but tbf to him that's the only way he knows how to show his "love?" For her since that's the only love he's known/received. Again not a valid reason but understandable y.
Also even though this doesnt really fit into the category of josei it doesnt really fit into any others either. Maybe a seinen would be more fitting but definitely not shounen or shoujo. Although i would say i do understand that it was categorized as a josei tho, idk how to explain it but it has a bit of that joseiy feel to it.

@portable @ginaasofnow I do not know who put this under Josei but it seems wrong to me. The monthly RiSky magasine, in which this was first published, caters more to males 30+ I would say. Usually containing horror stories (going from real life occurrence such as this one and bullying to ghost-like stories) and fetish-like stories with virtually no sex-explicit panels. They do seem to put a lot of violence against women on the covers although not all publications are in that sense (many are), I suppose it is for shock value or something. The author, big brother, usually draws fetish artwork for both men and women (more for men, I suppose it is because he has more male patreons). I wouldn't tag this under Josei, but having read all the releases, I wouldn't tag this 100% Seinen either, probably just Gruesome-liking individuals Such an interesting and challenging concept!

1-12 sheinen 13-39 probably josei. nah it's probably the same as villainess tropes get abused by some ouji and get the better ouji while the bad (first ouji) get punished to endless missery.
