He defeated a nation level threat. Something that wiped out a major chunk of the national army. He wasn’t going to be anonymous for long after that. The king had to out them for nothing more than national security and to guilt them into loyalty. It’s hard to be a full blown villain or traitor when an entire nation reveres you.

i just hope the childish author realizes this should push the original hero over the edge to cause a foolhardy confrontation. If he’s smart, the author will allow the shitty hero to gain some actual power to make the fight worth it.

It's clear that MC doesn't want to be a hero or isn't interested in being one.

The MC had the option to decline and didn’t take it. Even the King offered him the chance to renounce the title of Hero, but he still accepted it, even though he thought it would be annoying.

What a writing.

It would’ve been better if he had declined the Hero title and given a speech about not being interested in being a Hero or doing things just for the sake of the title.

That would’ve left more impact on the audience in the hall, showing that he’s humble and doesn’t seek glory.
