So much potential, and yet the author chooses to wallow in misery. George R.R. Martin is not a good author to emulate, and drama for the sake of drama is not an enjoyable read.

I'm compelled to try and psychoanalyze the writer, and what I'm identifying is creepy as hell - women are objects for pain or pleasure as the author wills it, lacking any sort of agency outside of their uses as fucktoys or punching bags. The writer clearly gets a kind of sick delight over power dynamics of this kind, indicating a pretty messed up sense of masculinity and a 'might makes right' mentality that screams of pure toxicity.

The art is excellent and in no ways makes up for the sheer awfulness of the story - rape, sexual violence, slavery, murder, it's like a cornucopia of all the worst aspects of humanity. I hate this. I truly hate this, and half of my ire is because the setup had so much promise! I nope'd out of this when they offed the stepsister, who already had a tragic enough life.

Fuck this author and his misogyny. 2/10, and that 2 only exists because the art is, again, excellent.

First time ever using the forum just to rave about how awful this is after the first introductory arc. The main character going from someone at least somewhat likable and understandable to an entitled deviant who abuses his position of power only to have everyone around him think he's toooootally coooool pisses me off to no end. The women in this comic are treated horribly and are used as character devices for the main character's display of typical male dominance in a space that rewards him for it. The goat lady with hypersexualized features being a slave that falls in love with him basically immediately after he's nice to her and uses his deus ex machina of a friend in the form of a fox diety to help her isn't even the worst part. Just read chapter 47, the last uploaded english chapter at the time of writing, and tell me that THAT is how slaves who have been sexually assaulted would act in the face of someone who they assume will do the same. Not only that but the main character purchasing a literal mother and child with the context of them being sex slaves made me wanna puke. And somehow it gets worse? Like... remember how the goat lady at least had some form of backstory that was settled before she trusted the main character? Not this time! The mother and child who should fear for their safety and lives, with the looming assumption of them being raped trust this guy 100% and have no issues running his stupid ass shop that he decided to open. He just goes "yep you're my literal slaves who were previously raped and abused by lords but haha trust me im totally different guys" and they're just like "oh ok!". Fuck this manga.

I hate harems so much. It's one thing if they're cheesy, non-committal romcom harems. at least with those they either end up vague or pick one person in the end. It's another when characters decide to force them for no reason into a developing romance. I feel like they are the laziest form of adding romance to a plot.

Once a harem happens, there's never any further development to the characters; They always become a lazy method of making everyone happy. The worst part is the author was already willing to kill off characters; they can at least stick to the theme of not everything being perfect. It would be far more interesting to have a character who had to move on and grow past it, but she essentially forces her way into a marriage that the MC didn't even show any actual interest in.

Is that really your response? Anyone who brings up that word immediately loses all credibility. That is rather sad since nothing I said remotely roams in that territory. I told you that your synopsis reads as if you actually never read the story. You sound like someone who says they hate naruto because its a space epic clearly telling me you don't know what you're talking about. You can't read, you can't voice your thoughts in the proper context, and you have some sorry comebacks.

If you're going to critique a manga then actually bother knowing whats going on within it.

Do I think this manga is great? Nope. Its quite jarring from where it started, felt like killing everyone was a bad move, the barrier magic isn't explained well so its just become a solve every situation ability, the characters come in quickly to have their issues resolved just as quickly,, and they fade into the background quickly after that. I also find it odd that MC bounced back from the trauma relatively quickly. The scenes or should I say one scene that plays later after he gets married isn't enough to convince me that his road to recovery was genuine.

The scene were he saw everyone the night after it happened in his dreams was sweet and the dream scene of celebrating his wedding was also sweet. Those are the best in the manga and would of been so much better if everything was handled better.

I speak out against people who are just blatantly making up things within the manga to then bash the manga. Bash it for whats there and not what you made up in your head.

I also never once watched solo leveling and have never once read solo leveling nor do I care to learn about solo leveling. I am not interested in Manwha.
