I kinda understand why it got the axe. The last few chapters before the split is just about the 30 year old acting like a middle-schooler which put the whole adult romance on hold or sometimes grindingly slow and frustrating.

Maybe it's because I'm not japanese, but I think it's fine to celebrate properly even after the formalities of marriage are done, there is no need to divorce and wait a months and then get married again.
