Is it sad that when I first saw the Makatushi, I thought of that one episode of the Simpsons where Mr. Burns was mistaken as a space alien?

Also, you have to feel bad that the crippled kid who usually is either outmatched in every fight or is hiding his powers behind an eyepatch becomes even more crippled. I know he has notoriously bad luck, but it feels like we're kicking a puppy.
