So they could have maintained communications between the armies, but didn't, because... favoritism? How dumb do you have to be to think that's a good idea?
This makes no sense. Shin can teleport so why the hell are they flying.
This is bad writing when the writer's trying to up the stakes but they go against their own established facts in the plot.
@everyone. I see your comments and this is just the author dragging their feet to write themselves out of a corner. They're trying to make things more interesting but that's not working because we have common sense
@Ashley021 Yup, pretty much. They could have saved their soldiers a lot of trouble and death if they had just got to the destination, open a portal, and let them through to begin with, though soldiers seem like enemy folder at this point.
You know, they did state the reason for not using Gate, it was faster to chase the two and intercepting before they reach Earlshide and to check on the army which they thought were the target instead or something. However, even after rereading that part over and over again, I still don’t understand why they can’t just use Gate? Am I dumb or is this manga dumb?
They're not using Gate because of plot reasons. It's a stupid plan to just chase after them without knowing where they could be. They could send a few to Earlshide to warn them, keep the rest chasing & at least then they can take measures to slow down the incoming devils should the chasing team not catch up.
The only reason they haven't sent anyone via Gate is to build tension & maybe kill off an important character or two.
