@InsaneInsomniac - more like, what isn't wrong with Kurt?
I guess it's part of Shin lacking common sense. It's normal for him that animals turn into demons, so he doesn't consider people turning into demons something extraordinary. But in the book, Kurt was the second human ever to turn into a demon.
@flannan
I reacted like that cause Shin is shown to ponder that question AFTER Kurt has: 1 blatantly abused the authority of his family's position despite repeated warnings and punishments for doing so 2 attempted to murder a group of students 3 demonized and 4 taken head on shots from some of Shin's (admittedly lower tier) spells but received essentially no damage
at this point being surprised something is wrong with Kurt is like being surprised that fire is warm after being burned by it several times over
@InsaneInsomniac well, later we find out that it was because Kurt didn't fit Shin's expectations of a demon. The demon that was the first one was much more dangerous and much more insane.
I stopped at the part where Shin's "Absolute Magic Defense" failed to keep him uninjured. Like, where tf did absolute go? DOn't call it what it ain't m8
@Simply_Fiction If your shield is a 10 and your enemy's ability is more like an 11+, why wouldn't something make it through? These guys still need to supply the power to that defense themselves. It's obvious that the greater power will have the greater effect when two things collide like that.
