How is sword magic any different from normal magic? They haven't explained that at all. It's literally just magic + sword
i assume since its not 1 or the other, magic vs physical, it asserts more power. and its something the one making them (i assume they are made) didnt think both would happen.

It's magic. It reads like an excuse to have only his power work on it. The writing overall is inconsistent, like whether magic is its own thing entirely, or causes physical effects. This whole incompatibility idea doesn't work well unless it's sufficiently explained or demonstrated.

If it's just about more power, then a really powerful spell or a really powerful sword would do it. It's not like with the hydra which can be cut, but it regenerates, and it can be burned, but only on wounds with less resistance.

The thing uses electricity based tech instead of magic essence, had obvious cyborg parts, went from a scrub easily defeated by some mere magic attacks to something with immense resistance to both magic and swords, and acts irrationally unless it obeys prior instructions.

I'll call it, it is obviously manmade, and the research has been progressing since that first time. Seems the first time was a field-test, the creator found out that magic exists, magic immunity was included (would have been there from the start if they knew about magic), and this is the next field-test.

I knew I could count on Noelia to go out there and try to help the love of her life in his dangerous mission. I'm really enjoying her assertive personality that won't take no for an answer when she knows her magic and knowledge can be used to help. Now if only she'd also be more assertive about her own feelings. Her dad witnessing them in a seemingly compromising position was a fun bit of comic relief in this otherwise serious chapter, but the transition from that to the tent scene was kinda jarring. There wasn't a missing page there right?

Plot thickens, someone else mentioned this abyss walker's similarity with one of Vigo's artificial guards. Would not be surprised if this is actually part of a plot against the kingdom rather than some external threat (e.g. demonic invasion).

Localising "Flick-sama" to "Mr. Flick" is cringe.

"Flick-sama" conveys her admiration of him and his abilities, and the fact that a daughter of nobility uses it when referring to a commoner says volumes. "Mr. Flick" conveys nothing, and it sounds awkward and unnatural to English speakers.

I wish translation teams would stop trying to make Japanese honourifics fit the English language when there's no suitable equivalents available. Just keep them as is.
