Trying to figure out the author's intent. I'm guessing "pretty boy MC, journeying with female cast" is now the goal. It started out kind of neat, as I'm always a fan of time travel, but it doesn't seem to be going any where with the plot.
In a way, it is kind of amazing that the author seems to have run out of steam so early in the story though.

okay so what if he within the first 10 minutes flew around and took everyone’s badges and killed all the monsters then what?
They win but in the process, a good opportunity for the other members to learn and grow will be lost. thats why hes not doing shit

I cant recall at all either, completely useless.
If that is true why he acts as if getting the badge stolen is something completely out of his expectation and he's letting his guard down when they specifically mentioned that at the moment he should be the one fighting? If he's a complete bystander mentor he shouldn't even have to act in regret of doing nothing and rejecting the cooperation request from the beginning.
Also, it's becoming an unfair disadvantage to the team if one of them is doing completely nothing pretending to be a coach on the field, imagine in 4 members team sports one of your team members doing nothing while opposing teams have all of them coming at you. It's not making sense.

What makes it even more stupid for him to not be doing anything is that he's trying to rise in rank so he can fight Linne. (the captain that looks like his master) Him just sitting there on the sidelines being deadweight for his team is not going to earn him any promotions. He isn't even contributing anything in fights for them to be counting him as a team player or specialized in support, he just looks like a leech.

He does not have to dominate the competition. He just have to AT LEAST protect his own teammates from losing points. He didn't the that. He just sat at the back, talking like a master and doing jack shit.
The least he can do is make things interesting and not just standing still doing nothing. He doesn't even need to save the girl. He just have to blow away the smokescreen or some shit.
